Grosse Ile Soccer Coach Suspended for Misconduct with Minor
A soccer coach on Grosse Ile is suspended after being found guilty of misconduct with a minor.

A watchdog group found a children's soccer coach guilty of violating their code of conduct for an intimate relationship with a 13-year-old girl. The coach, who was 31 years old at the time, abruptly quit as the Grosse Ile High School's Girl Varsity Coach when Brownstown Township launched their investigation into the relationship in 2025. However, he still runs Chaos Soccer Club on Grosse Ile, but now he is suspended from his coaching duties with the club.
The relationship escalated, with the coach and the girl sharing thousands of texts, some late into the night. The texts became more personal and flirtatious, with the coach expressing that he wished he was her age and had not seen her for several days. At one point, he even apologized for creeping her out.
The investigation by the ‘US Center for Safe Sport’ found that the coach was guilty of violating their code of conduct. The watchdog group can take action even if law enforcement does not, as they only need to show that a violation occurred by a preponderance of evidence, which is a lower standard than beyond a reasonable doubt. The coach may still fight the suspension, as he can hire an attorney and try to challenge it. He can also organize and direct the tournaments as an administrator, but SafeSport cannot comment on individual cases to maintain the integrity of its investigative process.
FOX 2 tried to contact the coach by phone and email, but did not hear back in time for this story. His wife is now listed as being in charge on the website for the soccer club he currently runs.
