The 2026 World Series is on the verge of its first four-game sweep as the Milwaukee Brewers secured a decisive victory over the Tampa Bay Rays on Monday night. Milwaukee won Game 3 by a score of 10-1, extending their series lead to 3-0. The result positions the Brewers to claim the championship in four games for the first time in club history.

Robert Gasser delivered a dominant performance on the mound, anchoring the Brewers' pitching staff throughout the outing. The offense capitalized on his effort by scoring nine runs in the third inning alone. This surge overwhelmed the Rays, who managed a single run in defeat. The decisive nature of the blowout removed any suspense regarding the series' trajectory heading into Tuesday.

Neither franchise has previously won a World Series title, making the outcome a historic moment for the sport. The Rays earned their spot in the championship by defeating the Cleveland Guardians in six games during the American League Championship Series. Junior Caminero hit a home run in Game 6 to seal the AL pennant. This is the Rays' first World Series appearance since 2020 and only their third in franchise history. The Brewers swept the Los Angeles Dodgers in four games to win the National League pennant. It is Milwaukee's first World Series since 1982.

The series will continue with Game 4 scheduled for Tuesday at 8 p.m. Eastern time. The game will be played at Tropicana Field and broadcast on Fox, Fox Deportes, and fubo. If the series remains tied or close, Game 5 is set for Wednesday at 8 p.m. Eastern. Game 6 and Game 7 are scheduled for Friday and Saturday, respectively, both starting at 8 p.m. Eastern and played in Milwaukee.

The Brewers have won the first two games of the series. Game 1 ended with a 3-2 Milwaukee victory, while Game 2 concluded with a 5-4 win for the Brewers. The Rays have been held to two or fewer runs in each of the three games played so far. The next pitch is scheduled for Tuesday evening, with the possibility of the series ending in Milwaukee's favor.
