Bridge Culture Club will meet on Zoom from noon to 1 p.m. Oct. 30 to discuss "Witchy Boots," a documentary about women in the craft beer industry. The discussion is moderated by Bridge Michigan membership specialist Rose Cramton, who will take questions from attendees.
The film traces medieval alewives accused of witchcraft alongside modern brewers working in a male-dominated craft beer industry. It also covers what the source describes as inclusion, creativity, and sisterhood inside the brewhouse.
Three guests are scheduled to appear. Emmy Award-winning filmmaker J.S. Phillips made the documentary. Jamie Kidwell-Brix is co-owner and head brewer at Earthen Ales and Tank Space in Traverse City. Sandy Cockerham serves as president of the Beer Judge Certification Program. Each will answer questions about the film.
Registration for the Zoom session is handled through an Eventbrite form, which sends the invitation and link. Bridge Club members can request film access by completing a form emailed Oct. 12. Non-members can join for $1.
The event runs Oct. 30 from noon to 1 p.m. Attendees are asked to bring lunch.
