Huron Township public safety officials are asking residents to share any information they have about a missing Southgate woman.
Kimberly McGrath, 43, was last seen with her family on Oct. 9. Police located her vehicle three days later in the backyard of a home in the 18000 block of Hannan Road in western Wayne County. The homeowner who reported the crash to police said they could not find the person who had been driving the car.
McGrath remains unlocated as of Monday. Huron Township Public Safety confirmed her status during a briefing on the ongoing search. The department has partnered with the Lapeer County Search and Rescue Team, drive teams from surrounding counties, and the Huron Clinton Metro Parks to continue the effort.
Detectives have focused their work on the area surrounding the crash site. Police believe McGrath may be nearby and have continued canvassing the neighborhood. They have also used drones and K9 units to cover ground during aerial and ground searches.
Authorities noted that McGrath may be hesitant to contact police if she fears being in trouble. A Huron Township Public Safety representative stated, "Behind the scenes, our Detective Bureau has dedicated every minute they have to finding out where she is. They are doing all they can to give closure to her great circle of family and friends."
The search has now continued for two and a half weeks. Residents with information about McGrath's whereabouts can contact the Huron Township Police Department at 734-753-4400 or through emergency dispatch.
